I can't seem to get a straight answer out of my bank or anyone for that matter what exactly the Making Homes Affordable program has to offer.
I never considered it by my girlfriend lost her job (we have the mortgage together) and now I'm carrying the weight. We were looking to refi anyway but now the MHA program is available to us.
What are your experiences with the MHA program?
Any info about what they can do?
Etc.
Thanks!!!!

Yuengling,
Trust me millions of peoplare in the same boat. When you call your bank probably first answer you will get is, we are still firugin otu the program and some oen will be in touch soon.
Besides that, if your loan is onwed by Fannie and Freedi, then you are probably in a good position. Most fo the modification being done are on these loans. You can verify who owns your laon by calling yoru bank.
If it is nto woned by one of them, you need to write a fincail hardship letter explaing yoru situation to teh bank and ask for some asssitance with yoru loan modification.
You can fidn a sample hardship letter on this forum,

Good luck and feel free to ask.

hi
the home affordable refinance program is a great relief for millions of home owners who weren't able to refinance due to their homes being under water. under the program if you can refinance to avail a low interest rate even though your property has decreased in value, provided you have been current on your payments for the last 12 months. to know more on this program, you can refer to the following link :

but since your girlfriend has lost her job, it will be difficult for you to refinance in both of your name. but if you have have a stable job and your credit is good, you can qualify on your own and refinance solely in your name.
