Is there anyway to get my mothers money back?

Posted on: 04th Jan, 2009 01:07 pm
My mother gave her boyfriends daughter a loan to purchase real estate. There isn't any documentation as to the terms of the loan. Now my mother has passed away and all I know is she lent her money but not sure exactly how much. The boyfriend knows about the loan but also doesn't know the terms and the daughter now is saying that it was a gift. But without anything other than a wire transfer to a title company is the estate out the money? Can I take it to court even though there isn't any proof?
Hi casaqueen!

Welcome to forums!

As there is no proof of the fact that your deceased mother has given money to her boyfriend's daughter, it will be difficult for you to proof anything in the court. However, in my opinion, you need to consult an attorney and take his/her advice.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
