lein against my house

Posted on: 13th Jan, 2009 09:50 pm
HI, this is a litttle hard to explain for i am confused myself. MY husband died in june he had a old truck that was paid off but we couldnt find the title to it...my son sold the truck and the person buying it went to a title company to do a lost title search in order to get one......there is another truck my husband had that was not paid off when he died and they told me the loan was not transferable that i had to just pay it off...i didnt have 15000 so i told them to come get it...they never have it still sits in my drive unused.....ok.back to the begining the title company told the person buying the old truck that a lien was being put agianst my house ( which is up for sale ) and that they would be sending me a letter..... what is this about and could it be on the other truck that wasnt paid for? and how can they legaly tell someone this information if it isnt on the old truck and has nothing to do with them ?
Hi wanda,

It is surprising that if your son sold the fully paid off truck to the buyer, then there was no need for the title company to tell him about the lien on the property or about the other truck. They should have only informed him about the title of the truck which the buyer bought from your son.

Thanks,

Jerry
