If I owe an attorney money can he put a lien on my house?
Hi glenn,
A lien cannot be placed on your property unless it was clearly stated in a contract or a promissory note. I believe you did not enter into any sort of written agreement or contract with the attorney, right? In that case, it will not be possible for him or her to put lien on your property.

why are you saying that you own money?
to the contrary...if you owe someone and fail to pay that debt, the person can file suit to collect from you. once judgment is obtained, if you continue to fail to pay, a lien can be placed on your property to ensure eventual payment.
