I am an heir to a property that is to be sold. However, one family member has leins that they do not want to clear up so the closing attorney has stopped the closing process. Since it is a personal lein can it stop the sale of the property. Can't the other family members get their money and the lein be satisfied with the person's money that owes them?
Hi iwhuff!
Welcome to forums!
Any kind of liens on the property may stop it's sale. If you want to sell off the property, then the lien needs to be satisfied first.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
