is it possible for a company to put a lien on my parents home without being warn. my dad owes a company for a motorcycle that was repoed and they are treating to put a lien on house. my parents are old and live on fix income and have tried to make arrangment but they will not. they owed house out right, we live in alabama. was wondering if they should put the house in only moms name since other loan was not in her name.

The creditor should inform your father before placing a lien on his property. Moreover, in order to place a lien, the creditor will have to file a judgment against him. If the lender has not taken any actions against your father, then he can transfer the property to your mother.
