Lien on property

Posted on: 17th Jul, 2009 09:17 am
My parents owned a furniture store for 45 yrs. They are now both deceased and I just received a Certified Letter from the Sheriff's ofc in their community stating that they will have a Sheriff's Sale on property in that area. I do know that my parents had several liens against clients that did not pay for items that were purchased through them. What do I need to do now? Should I attend the Sheriffs Sale? Am I entitled to the money from the sale? HELP!
hard to tell you what to do, mbandy; but i would definitely contact your local sheriff's office to get more details and to try to determine if it's in your best interests to attend. if they can't answer your questions, go to the local courthouse and ask, or get a lawyer on your side to fill you in.
