My mother recently passed away, my father is disabled and it is necessary for us to live with him as care givers to keep him from a nursing facility. After she passed he had our names added to his deed along with his - can medicaid place a lien and recover cost from us if we try to sell his property after his death?

You may consider a reverse mortgage to help your father continue living in his home. A reverse mortgage would allow him to use equity from the home to pay for inhome care.
It will aslo protect some of the equity in your home from a potential medicaid lien as it would have been tied up through the reverse mortgage.
Just a thought, Hope this helps!
