I have been attempting to get a loan mod with Chase for the past year..since hurricane ike. I submitted my packet 6x and for the last 7 mos have been told I am in underwriting. Haven't paid my mortgage in 1 year. Went to NACA.org workshop they have submitted my request for restructure 2x to Chase with no response...still waiting. Call chase and am told I am in forebearance but never received any paperwork and when I ask them to explain they act like they gave me info that they should not have and transfer me to someone else...not sure what to do next. I have been calling for a year now. Help!!!!!
Hi TNT,
Most of the mortgage companies do not seem to be eager to do loan modification. They are taking months, and at times years, to process the requests for loan modification. Unfortunately, you do not have too many options if they delay in processing your request for modification. You are already behind on your mortgage payments and it is affecting your credit. If your lender takes more time to modify the loan, your credit will be severely damaged.
