I live in a 1998 single wide home. Good condition. I am looking for help to replace windows, furnace/air etc. I have poor credit.
Score 601. I am disabled. I do not have money to put towards a loans such as 5%. I am looking for approx: $10,000. if possible. There i no mortgage on the home at this time it is free and clear. Is there help for me?
sharon, you ought to approach a local credit union, if you are eligible to join one; and as an alternative a local community-type bank. you won't find the major mortgage lenders intererested in what you desire to do, but with a local concern, you may have sufficient interest from one of the above to get the loan you need. offering them title to the property as collateral would certainly be helpful, which you ought to be able to do. in that fashion, if you defaulted on the loan, they'd be able to repossess the home and sell it to recover their money.

of course, we don't anticipate that happening, but it usually makes a recalcitrant lender more amenable to granting a loan to someone in your situation.

If your 62 yrs or older & your mobile home meets FHA guidelines you can use a reverse mortgage to do repairs to your home. It can only have been moved from dealer to its original location.
