I have recently requested a loan modification and trying to be patient as time is running out on me...facing foreclosure as of July 7th! I contacted the modification department yesterday and they said that they are in process of my request...they have pulled my credit report and if I'm accepted they will send a packet by mail to be completed asap. So I have two questions... First question: Why did they pull my credit report?
Second question: Can they still foreclose on my property if I'm trying to get a loan modification and it's in process right now?

Hi ahutton,
The lender may check your credit report in order to get an idea about your financial situation. I don't think there is anything wrong in pulling your credit report. As far as foreclosure is concerned, if your loan modification request is not accepted, the lender will inform you about it and then foreclose the property.
Thanks
