my husband kept our house in the divorce settlement. he did not qualify for a loan. he was basically coached by the lender to fall behind so he could qualify for a loan modification due to "hardship" from the loss of my income. i don't understand how he did that without me ever signing anything since the loan is in both of our names. is it possible that he forged my signature or was my signature not necessary. i never signed a quit claim deed.
Hi hot mess,
Welcome to mortgage fit,
If there is any divorce decree in written format and specific mention of the award of the house to him as divorce settlement and if you have signed the divorce documents then I don't find any reason that he has done anything illegal, but if there is no divorce decree then surely it is illegal and he might have forged your signatures and surely you can sue them....
Feel free to ask any further query if you have.....
