we have applied for loss mitigation program. hoping to get loan modification that can fit our budget. we are currently being reviewed. my question is it necessary to be current on payments for this to work?
we are currently two payments behind right now. we are able to make one payment but not both will it affect our review outcome to not be current?

Hi nicpic!

Normally, in order to get any kind of mortgage help from the lender, it is better to be delinquent on your payments. However, it is also a fact that deliberately getting delinquent on your payments, when you can afford them, will lead you nowhere.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Homeowners are losing their homes at record rates with no end in sight. They often believe the answer to their prayers is refinancing their home and getting away from their current lender. However, they need to be very careful if they are relying on refinancing as the way to save their home from foreclosure.
