hi , can someone please help . my dad passon and he left the house to me after the house was under my name and i refinace the house madicaid put a lien on it . Can they do that.
i would imagine they can, since your dad undoubtedly benefited from the medicaid. your best bet, for legal questions, is to ask an attorney, though.

Yes. Medicaid (and MediCal for Californians) can recover the amount they've provided for care. The best resource (in Laymans terms) to understand how it works is available in these two books from Nolo Law:
