Gave back mobile home to Greentree May 08, even got back park deposit. Since then, I have received two phone calls and was told I owe 38,800. I said I don't have it. They then said they would accept 19,000. I said I don't have it. They said 250/ month. I said I can't afford that. I offered 5,000. They said no. I asked them to produce original signed loan agreement. They said they will mail it to me. I can't get a loan with a charge-off on credit report anyway. I can't file bankruptcy because I fail the means test. Will they give up and come down in price or sue me?

The lender will have both the options open. It will be his discretion whether he will sue you or demand a lower amount from you. You can try negotiating with them so that they can lower the amount which will help you in saving your credit to some extent.
