Citimortgage Loan Modification

Posted on: 20th Feb, 2009 04:20 pm
i am 20 days behind my mortgage payment with citigroup. i called late jan 2009 to let them know i will be late paying and said they will send me a loan modification packet which never came...we bought at $409k with 5% down, according to zillow prop is now worth $350K. i have a 30yr fixed at 6.50..has anyone had any experience with citimortgage and their practices? my income has been tremendously reduced. can someone please help me with a sample letter. when writing a hardship letter aside from my reduced income would it help to explain medical situations also or would it look lame and pitifull and would make them think i really cant afford the house. I would love to keep the house for the sake of my 3 boys. these are things i never had growing up and dont want to feel like im taking it away from them>>.please help me with a sample hardship letter and any suggestions .

God bless all of you!!
I hear all of you about citimortgage. We were a little behind not much because my husband got his hours cut so I called citi to tell them why I am running a little behind and they suggested modification. Like an fool I listened to them and followed everything they told me now after a year on the mod I have been put into forclosure and it has been a year they told me it would take 3 monthes. I have no idea i would end up in foreclosure because they decide to keep that info from us. These big banks keep hurting the little guys and you all know they need us to survive .

I have a house with citi that i rent out. I got a call from my renter telling me that there was a note on the door informing them that the house was bank owned and to move out. Citi put me in foreclosure even though they had cashed all the mortgage checks i sent. they dont deny that they received all the checks and cashed them, but they dont know where the money went because it wasnt put towards the mortgage payments. Now they want me to give them another 8400 bucks and hope that the money shows up in a holding account somewhere. I HATE CITI

Citi sends you all these letters stating they want to help but they never do. I need help with my house that is in foreclosure and after responding to letters sent by Citi just to be told there's nothing they can do but pay the past due balance. I only have 1/2 of that and i am unemployed. So where does the help come in at. I need help and my lender is not the answer.

Hi Rashada,

As you're unemployed, the lender won't be able to give you any option to save the property. You can take the help of your friends or relatives and check out if they can help you in saving the property.

Thanks

I didn't use a mortgage service. I did my loan modification myself and it prevented me from having to file for bankruptcy ---> shortme.eu/saveyourhome

Most owners expect a CitiMortgage loan modification will be able to prepare all necessary documents on their own without having to pay expensive mortgages to switch companies. All necessary information and examples have been widely disseminated online, free, and put in a little effort into a couple of hours of research, it is certainly possible to do yourself without specialist scammy called loan modification.

CitiMortgage process will involve the creation of a restriction that the letter will be sent to Citi, and will provide an overview of why you can not meet its current financial obligations. Again, this is where the assistance of a loan modification is beneficial. They can help you create an effective letter.

I agree they are not easy to deal with and I've been doing loan modification assistance for 3 years... I loved working with them as a mortgage broker but their customer service end is something to swear about!

If you are looking to refinance and your underwater you need to read the blog post on my site. I write independently for this company, and they are 100% a free service.

Anyone wanting to educate themselves on options under the government programs HAMP OR HAFA you need to visit the government's website:

www.makinghomeaffordable.gov

If you are hitting a wall with getting help from Citi then you can always reach out to your local government or Congress person. I have been successful on getting mods from citimortgage but it is not very easy...

I started going in for my mod 2 yrs ago. First I was told that I had to be approved with Als my first mtg lender before they would even consider me. Well thank God for Als and 4 mos later I was approved. Then back to Citimortgage who told me I didn't qualify. Not only were they wrong they were rude and the rep had no clue what they were doing. SHE SAID TO ME MAYBE YOU SHOULD WATCH WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY!!!!! The nerve of that girl. I tried to explain that I worked for 25 yrs in the mtg industry and made 6 figures and then the industry dropped out, but I was still left with all the debt. Well 2 yrs later I finally got someone that knew what the hell they were doing. All that time they were not putting in my figures correctly. Every call was over an hour and every figure had to be re-input everytime. THEY ARE THE WORST. If I could refi and qualify I would go somewhere else. THEY SUCK BIG TIME.

Loan modification is not the answer. We are real people helping real people.

With loan mods, the banks are in complete control and you are left begging with your hat in your hand. Why would banks WANT to help you if they don't HAVE to? Often they make more money through foreclosure than allowing a homeowner to stay in the home. The bank is NOT your friend. Loan mods haven not been the answer. Theres a BETTER way. One that gives you some leverage.

You CAN save your home or get the banks to work with you, even if your payments are on time or you're not behind. Of course the banks want you to THINK you have no options other than loan mods. But you do.

Visit our site now and find out how at NO COST to you. Its free info. You have nothing to lose except your home if you do nothing.

When you contact CitiMortgage, you can first be directed to recovery department. This will not help you a workout as agreement.Lenders CitiMortgage and Chase are bound by agreements they have signed under stimulus to offer loan modification services to all homeowners who qualify under guidelines relaxed

My husband and I are also with the monster *^*(% citimortgage. I filed a hardship back in November and denied. I appealed and still denied. Now my husband had back surgery and 60% of income and then have to pay 64.11 for insurance. I am disabled since December 2009. My husband has an appointment with doctor on Monday 032111 and we are still not sure that he will allow him to go back to work. THE MONSTER calls here about 3-4 time PER DAY and we get no where. I have fibromyglia and it only makes my pain worse. We go without eating and have since filed for bankruptcy, but attorney indicated that we have to be current on our house payments. I plan to pay February and March on 032311 when I get my ssi payment. I have no idea how I am going to come up with April. Thank you for allowing me to vent. I know alot of people are in the same used to say boat, but now I use the word ship. Please say a prayer. God Bless to all.

Hi tandy,

If you have filed bankruptcy, then the lender cannot come after you for payments now or call you for the payments. You can surrender your property to the lender as you're in bankruptcy filing. You won't remain personally liable for any payments after your bankruptcy filing is discharged.

Thanks
