Long story short I have a house that was in forclosure and I haven't made a payment in a year because I was told I lost the house just live there and leave when they put you out. Then I recieved a letter saying something could be done. I met with the lender and filled out all of the paper work. I explained that my spouse lost his job and now we are seperated and that was why I could no longer make my payments at thier current rate. She offered a repayment plan higher than my current payment, which was not a go.
Anyway she told me to wait for the Obama plan in about six weeks. Well yesterday I called and found out that I did not qualify for the Lender's plan and now I could try for the new Obama housing plan. I thought we did that 6 weeks ago. I started that yesterday . Is this the norm? Do you have to be turned down first? or am I wasting my time and sorry for going on so much I am so frustrated
"normal" is no longer normal. there's a new definition almost constantly. i can't say i'm surprised that the process has taken as long as it has, nor that it seems to be starting over again.

you may be wise to contact a hud counselor (www.hud.gov) who can help you with the conversations you need to have with your lender. the counselor can act as your advocate and seek ways in which to shorten this process.

Kat thee is nto gurantee until you get the final approval. Lot of people are callign every day and submittign the required information.

I woudl say submit what they need. I know it is really a painful process, but if it helps you at the end to keep your house, you will be happy that your efforts paid off.

Unfortunatly fi it is nto approved, you will not regret for not trying.

You need to patient.

well i am gratified you are with a counselor...i guess 6 weeks is a nice number to throw out there, but it seems, from what i read on here, to be a generous guess.
