Im consistantly behind a month or two on my mortgage payment. My wife had a job assisting a friend with child care and was paid under the table for her services, when she lost the job we begain to fall behind on our payments and we are always finding ourselves a month or two behind but we always catch back up after a few months. would a loan modification be granted to us in this situation even if im unable to show proof (pay stubs) of my wifes previous income?
the only way to find out if you will be able to get a modification is to ask. it would make sense, however, to speak with someone at one of the hud-approved counseling agencies to get a reasoned opinion. you can also have the discussion with naca, though i am hearing they're tough to contact lately (busy phones and we all wonder why, of course).
