I have question wwe got a loan through one company and we did a loan modification, and soon after I got a letter saying that one of their employees sold information of some of the clients. Well I never got another bill from these people and this was around the holidays busy and all and when I realized it , we were in even more debt so instead of calling I ignored it stupid i know, but it was over a year with no word from them then they were bought out by another bank and I got the generalized welcome letter but still didn't get a bill now this is going on 2 years finally I get a letter saying to contact them and we worked out a modification but not by speaking to anyone but once needless to say we paid one month and couldn't afford the next one. When I talked to the person to first set this up I told her about what happened with the first mortage company, and I also sent in letters that I had recieved , there was a court action law suit going on and I could join if I was affected , as far as I could tell we were safe from stolen identity, so I didn't respond, but I sent them that letter too. All I want is to stay in my home and pay the mortgage but an affordable on should I get a lawyer and fight this!
Hi gallshell,
You should contact your present lender and negotiate for a loan modification with him. You should inform the lender about your financial situation and let them know how much you can afford. If the lender gives you the loan modification, then it's well and good for you. If you're unable to negotiate with the lender, then you can think about taking the help of an attorney.
Thanks
