How do I ask for a loan modification?

Posted on: 06th May, 2009 09:36 pm
My mortgage is currently 98 days behind. I am making partial payments of 505.00 biweekly
Hi dmcire

You can apply for a loan modification by writing a hardship letter to the lender. You need to disclose your current financial situation to the lender. The lender will judge your financial situation and then decide whether he would accept your request or not.

Thanks.

I agree with the above 2 responses. Talk to your lender, see what they have to offer in your situation. You are behind so they should be able to offer you a re-payment plan or even get you a loan modification.

If you need any assistance in knowing whether or not you will qualify, we can give you a free consultation.

Hi Ken!

Welcome to forums!

You can write a hardship letter to the lender and apply for the mortgage modification. He will get to know about your financial situation from the hardship letter and would let you know whether or not you would be able to get the modification.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Ken,

It is good to know that you are worried about paying off your debts. You can call up your lender and tell them about your financial crisis, so that provide you with an easy repayment plan. You can also go for loan modification which will restructure your existing loan into a new one in a comfortable manner. However, it is again up to the lender to accept or reject your proposal. To get a loan modification, you can send a hardship letter to the lender.
