i am attempting to refinance due to being under water, high interest rate and husband job has his working 6 months out of the year. i have a company offering to help me but they are charging me $1995. are there companies out there that do this type of thing that don't charge a fee?
Hi euniqueangel,
If your property is underwater, you won't be able to refinance it. Unless you've equity in your property, lenders won't be ready to refinance your home loan. However, you can definitely apply for a loan modification if you're facing hardship to pay off the dues. However, as far as I know, you won't have to pay anything upfront in order to get a modification.
Thanks

If you are underwater, you maybe able to refinance under the Home affordable program go to Making Home Affordable.gov website for more information. If you are refinancing there are the standard refinance fees but if you are doing a loan modification attorney's and loan modification companies can charge a few hundred to a few thousand
