I have an important question. My mom passed away about a yr. ago, and I managed her check book for her and paid her monthly bills. I was her power of attorney. She had VA insurance and medicare to assist in paying for her prescriptions. And this 1 pharmacy keeps sending me a bill for about $600 continuously. This is not my debt, and is my mom's. And she left no money to me. She had none, what income she had was from the military and when 1 deceases it all goes back to them. Do I have to be responsible for this debt?

Hi cmay!
Welcome to forums!
You won't be responsible for your mother's debt. You should inform the pharmacy that your mother is deceased and there is no need to send the bill to you. I hope that will sort out the matter.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Technically, you are not responsible for your mother's debt, however, your mother's debtors will find a way to get the money back. You better speak to them about your case and tell them that there is no way that you'll be paying for the debt.
Sabrina, whatever way this creditor finds to retrieve their funds ought never to involve our poster.
CMay616, please advise them that you have no responsibility in the matter, that you are sorry they're out their money, but that you also must never hear from them again in this matter.
They have no right to dun you for the payment of this debt.
