I am in an unfamiliar situation and would like some advise. Our payments have gotten to a point that we will not be able to make them. I have heard several opinions on when to contact the bank.
1) wait until I am 2-3 months behind
2) before I miss my first payment (seems only bankers favor this one)
Any advise as to which one puts me in better position. And how long does the foreclosure process generally take.
Thanks for your advise

well, i used to be a banker, but now i just originate new loans.
it's my belief that the earlier you begin communication with your lender, the better. then again, that's a life principle, isn't it? communication is key to everything.

I recommend looking at Attorney Loan Modification companies as the good ones will give you upfront free prequalifications and advise as far as a loan modification.
