Hi steve!
Welcome to forums!
A summons should be served to you if the lender decides to foreclose the property. Unless the summons is served, the lender shouldn't foreclose the property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

There are many ways to serve a summons, including by publication. Do not assume because you are out of the country, that they have not filed a proof of service and obtained a judgment. Hire a local attorney to research the status of your property.
How long as it been since you've made a mortgage payment?
