Posted on: 13th Jun, 2010 06:55 pm
i gave my ex-spouse the house in the divorce january 2010 everthing was signed over but i am still on the mortgage. ex-spouse can not qualify for a refinance because income and the mortgage been deliquent since january 2010. i am an authorized user on my new spouse charge cards, but no joint debt. can i file for bankruptcy to come from under the mortage? will the creditor go after my new spouse and affect her good credit? we married less than 60 days, please help...
welcome guest,

if you are filing bankruptcy alone, then your new spouse's credit will not get affected in any way. you should contact a bankruptcy attorney and check out which type of bankruptcy filing will be best suited for you. also, with your bankruptcy lawyer's permission, you can remove your name from your new spouse's charge cards as well.
