May a lender contact a person NOT listed on the loan..i.e, my father was contacted BUT his information was never supplied to the lender, he has nothing to do with the property. Is this a violation of privacy? They did a search to find out my father's information
depends on if you have similar names.
Why did they contact him?
Lenders don't go out of their way to contact other ppl to violate your privacy. They know this will violate your privacy, and lead to a million dollar lawsuit

Sportyallstar,
The lender should not have contacted your father if he is neither on the property nor on the loan. But did you ask him what the purpose was? please do not give away any important financial information if such a thing happens. You never know when your information can be used for any scam!

I would have your father ask them why they are contacting him if they call again.
