on mortgage but not deed

Posted on: 07th Jan, 2011 08:10 am
my partner had me mortgage her home in my name only, mainly because I had more money at the time, but I'm not on the deed.. I'm now surprised the bank allowed it. We lived together for 10 yrs, are now split..(1 year). What are my chance of reversing this situation or am I obligated ..it is not an amicable split. Thank you
hi patricia,

even i'm surprised that the lender allowed such a deal. in this situation, your ex partner will have to refinance the mortgage in his/her name or sign a deed to transfer the property to you. you will have to negotiate with your ex partner in regards to any one of these options.

thanks
