I have applied for the HAMP Program my home is in foreclosure it is under FHA IN Phila .I am now 7 mos behind in my Mortage payments. I have saved 5 mos so far . I went to Court the lenders needed addition documents. Will go back in Dec. I am really scared they may say i donot meet hamp requirements. Will they offer me a inhouse Modification? OR will they just sell my home once i go to court? I am looking for another job part-time . I curently am working fulltime. Should i hirer a lawyer? Can i opt out of the Hamp and ask to pay my 6 mos behind payments and put the other payment late fees court cost on the back loan ? PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO .
Hi Vjohnson,
You can request the lender for an in-house modification. It will be the lender's discretion whether or not he will agree to your request. It is not mandatory for you to take the help of an attorney. You should try and negotiate with your lender. In case the lender disagrees with you, then you can consider taking help of an attorney.
Thanks
