I worked for a small company for a week and the owner hasn't paid me, and it's been 4 weeks. Is it true that the law gives an employer at least 30 days to pay you?? What can I do to get my money??
Hi guest,
The owner has no right to deprive you of your wages. You can file a lawsuit against the employer to force him pay your wages. You can also file a suit in the small claims court if the amount of the outstanding wage is within the maximum limit applicable in your state.

undoubtedly you have a labor department in the state in which you live. contact them immediately. it's not unheard of for companies to go bust and fail to pay wages to their workers, but you should be at least partially protected by the laws of your state. call them!
