Mortgage payments not being reported

Posted on: 25th Sep, 2010 04:02 pm
I live in a 2100 sq feet 1996 Commodore manufactured home the park was sold 2 years ago, recently I found out that the owner does not report mortgage payments to the credit bureau, what should I do?
If you're the owner of the property and if you're paying the mortgage dues on time, then the lender should report it to the credit bureaus. You should contact your lender and request him to report your monthly mortgage payments to the credit bureaus.

The lender is the owner of the park, when I called the office they stated that they don't report however if a person wanted to apply for something that "they" will write the company and let them know your payment history with them. But I dont understand how will that type of approach affect your credit rating.

Hi Thelma!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask the lender to write a letter to the credit bureaus and inform them about your mortgage payments. Once the lender does so, it'll definitely have a positive affect on your credit report.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
