I own half of a property in Nevada. My partner refuses to sell off the property and so I cannot get my share of the equity. How can I place a lien on it so that I can get my money?
Hi Barbbie,
You can only place a lien on a property when someone else owes money to you. In your case, you will have to file a partition lawsuit so that the court orders the sale of the property. After the mortgage is paid off in full, the rest of the money will be divided between both of you.
Thanks,
Jerry
