I need to know how we would know if we might qualify for a loan modification?
Someof the basic facotors would be any financial hadship
Any reduction in income after you purchased the house
Loss of job with yoru or your partner/husband
If you meet any one ofthese then you cna approach your bank and ask for modification andthey will very all the documents to process yoriu request
This process can take any where between 60 -120 days

So you don't do any of this? Our bank already told us we "don't qualify"
Hi glez!
Welcome to forums!
Did the lender give you any reason as to why you do not qualify for loan modification? If you are unable to negotiate with your lender yourself, you can take the help of a qualified attorney who deals with loan modification. He can help you in negotiating with your lender.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

puzzlement abounds, as i've said before. glez35 you asked the question as if you were a neophyte to the process. then you noted that, in fact, you've already been denied in your quest to modify. did you think that our website here has powers to modify your loan? i'm sorry, if that's the case, as we have no such ability here.
but i come back around to this: why did you ask the question if you already knew the answer?

you should contact bank confirming reason of disqualified
great idea as a rule, kim, but i suspect the bank already gave them the reason, inasmuch as they've denied the request.
Bank is supposed to give a reply against your application.
if you are not qualified, they will mention reason as well.

it is hard to figure out if you qualify for a loan mod and most companies won't help you to figure that out or even your bank.... it is hard because most people feel alone when they are trying to do a loan mod and don't have the support they need as you can try it yourself or hire an attorney to do it for you. the attorneys are very inexpensive and less expensive then a refinance loan.
