My husband was removed from the house 2005. He supplied me with 900/mo which I used to faithfully pay the 700/mo mortgage plus excrow. Daughter was born DOB 9/93. In 3/2008 he had the mortgage address changed to his mother's. I received no info on mortagage - he said he would pay; he continued to give me 900/mo. He began giving our daughter rides at night while I worked a second shift. Bought her everything mom couldn't. Troubled brewed between my daughter and I. Dad told daughter the house was his and she would be homeless like her Daughter overpowered me on more than one occassion. Physical stuff - blackeye to mom once, etc. Daughter causing damage to home - holes in walls, broken windows, etc. On my way out to work physical alteration occurred, june 2008, I called police for help - thought they'd take her to service net - she instead was arrested. I went to work waiting for a phone call on situation. Father intervened - never heard from her for one month as she lived with father who refused to let me talk to her. July father stops all monies to me. August he stops paying mortgage. Late October bank sends pre acceleration to house address as last resort because father refused to respond to the banks mailings to his address. I bring mortgage up to date. Daughter wants to move back home after she completes her six month probation period. Nov 21 pipe bursts-major incurance loss. All goes to hell. Dec daughter's in trouble with court for not participating in counscling ; father and daughter make last minute appointment claiming nothing is wrond. Couselor calls me I state counseling is needed. Obtain letter sent to daughter yesterday from counsoleor clarigfyie behavior in helping child get counsoling. Daughter was arrested in june for shoplifting. Still lives with father the loss at the house -no water, no electricity for several weeks screwed up and fueled tensions with daughter and I. We love each other dearly we both admit this she openly claims to be mad at mom for never making the situation right also mom has serious money problems now resulting from claim. I took courses online, brought computer skill up to par, june 16th started a good job, daughter very happy hopes we can be together, WHY AM I SOLELY RESPONSIBLIE FOR THE MORTGAGE, UP KEEP OF THE HOUSE, AND FINANCIAL BURDEN OF THE INSURANCE LOSS? yES i LIVE HERE, BUT HE MAINTAINS RIGHTS TO HALF THE EQUITY IN THE PROPERTY. i'M GOING INTO BANKRUPTCY, HE ENJOYING 50,000 INCOME.ng my view an, her reluctance to receive counsoling, fathers uncooperative behavior in helping child get counsoling. Hi vbronson!
Welcome to forums!
If your husband's name is on the mortgage note, then he is responsible for the mortgage equally. But if his name is removed from the property deed and mortgage, then he is in no way liable for the mortgage payments, insurance or the maintenance of the property.

Thank you. The husband's name is not only on the mortgage, but it is his social security number that is on it. That's why he can change the mailing address of bank info without my signiture, hence , my knowing. I on the other hand can't do the same - have the address changed back to me without his signiture. I will let the bank know that the mortgage is equally his responsiblity, and continue to pay HALF - half the principle, 1/2 the interest, 1/2 the escrow. Thanks again.
Hi Vanessa,
I would suggest you to contact an attorney and also take his opinion in this regard. He will be able to tell you whether it is legal on your husband's part to change the mailing address of the bank info without your signatures.
Thanks
