Received foreclosure documents

Hello everyone… The bank increased our mortgage payments to such an extent that we cannot afford them. We decided to try to go through a company go get the payments lowered. That was around 6 months ago. Yesterday we received the foreclosure documents. We were told by the company not to speak to the lender and that they would take care of it. What do we do now?
I guess you have been forced into a scam. It would have been better if you could have directly contacted the lender and applied for a loan modification. This would have helped you to avoid the scam. I don't think you should wait for anything. You should immediately contact the lender and try to sort out the matter.

Hi Kassy,

I agree with Niicss. You may have been scammed by the loan modification company. As Niicss has suggested, you shouldn't wait now. It is high time that you contact your lender and request for a loan modification if you wish to save the property.

Thanks
