AM I LIABLE

Posted on: 03rd May, 2010 04:14 am
I PURCHASED A HOME APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS AGO AND NOW THAT I AM ABOUT TO MARRY I DECIDED TO PLACE THE HOME ON THE MARKET. MY REALTOR DISCOVERED THAT THE PROPERTY (DEED) WAS NEVER PLACED IN MY NAME. I FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE BEEN RENTING AND HAVE NO CLAIM TO THE PROPERTY. CAN I RECOUP MY INVESTMENT (PROPERTY TAXES, INTEREST ON THE MORTGAGE PAYMENT, ETC.)
It will be difficult for you to recover your investment. You should contact the original seller of the property and ask him to transfer the property in your name. Then you can sell off the property.
