Debt was discharged and 2nd lien was not reaffirmed. Credit report reflect discharge and no balance due. Creditor has no records to reflect accout or lien as it is over 7 years old. How can this be addressed/removed from the property title? Location North Carolina
Hi Guest,
A Chapter 7 bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for 8-10 years. You cannot remove it from the credit report before that. As you did not reaffirm the loan, you are not personally responsible for the loan payments anymore. However, you should note that though you did not reaffirm the loan, your lender still holds the lien on the property and has the right to foreclose the property to recover the dues.
Thanks
