time to remove personal items

Hi... I am asking ? for my sister..she and her husband have decided to divorice. Her husband just told her that she has less than 24 hours to get her stuff out of the house as he has recieved notice that the property will be sold in 24 hours due to foreclosure from the lending institution. I need to know if she will have time to get her things or if she is going to lose them? She has 3 minor children and they have lived there for 17 years.. she is worried she will lose all of their personal belongings? Any help would be appreciated. Is there someone she can contact as her husband will not talk to her or tell her anything?? Thank you!
