if a mortgage company is not reporting to credit bureau, can they when a home forclose. My mortgage company does not report to credit bureau and I want to know why
Hi tisia!

Welcome to forums!

Generally lenders report all the payments to the credit bureaus. It helps in building your credit in the long run. It is quite surprising to me that your lender is not reporting your payments to the credit bureau. You should contact your lender and check out why he is not reporting the payments to the credit bureaus.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

This is really surprising.

Call the bank and ask why they are not reportingor just delay this months payments by few days, they will surely wake up.

My mortgage company is not reporting my mortgage payments to the credit bureau. Is'nt this a violation of the fair credit reporting act.

i'm not aware of any stipulation that a lender must report information to a credit bureau. some don't simply because they don't want to spend money or may have an archaic computer system or some other variety of reasons. i'm sure it's not a fair credit violation.

Just talked to an attorney he said they are definitely in violation of not reporting my payment history. He said they can't do that it is a violation of the fair credit reporting act it's my rights to have my payment history listed with the credit bureau

i don't disagree that you ought to be able to have your credit reported correctly, but i do disagree with what the lawyer said. "rights to have credit history reported" isn't part of any acts that i know of that have passed. if it's not in fair credit reporting, i don't know where it would show up...i will, however, find out more.

Jesme, we might be able to answer that question if you'd identify what it is you want to "do" about...what's the issue?

If your making mortgage payments even if you are in a loan modification, by law the lender has to report the credit history, it is a violation and they can be fined. See FTC website.

How do you know they are not reporting? Did you pull your credit report? Your mortgage should report on your credit report and the current status.

we filed over 2 years ago, we kept the house and have paid faithfully... yet is shows as disharged under chapter 7 on our report. we told our lawyer that we wanted to reafirm from day one, we never have received any papers from Bank of America on this, we just keep paying to stay in the house. Now we want to refiance they won't help, so we try a different lender and they said that we have to get our mortage co. to report ? Do we walk away at this point and start fresh since according to our report we don't owe or do we try to fight and not get any where ? It is wrong what they are doing to not only us but many other Americans..

your mortgage hasn't been reaffirmed. so, you're personally not liable for the mortgage payments. in such a situation, your lender won't refinance the loan or report the payments to the credit bureaus. you can surrender the property to the lender and walk away from it. the lender won't be able to come after you for the deficient balance resulting from the sale of the property.

Well there are some quick tips. You DO need to use your cards. If you leave them there without using them then what can the cidert bureau look at to decide your score. Next never owe more than 50% of your cidert card limit. For Example: Limit of $1000.00, only use up to $500.00. Last but not least take a card that has no annual fee. Try out with Bank of America. I hear they have a cidert card now 12 months no interest and no annual fee. Capital One is horrible!!
