I got a letter stating the mortgage company is repossesing my home on the 21st. How long do I have to get out of the house? Does it have to go through some sort of court prosess?

Hi Skrizz,
The letter that you have received is a legal document in itself. After the property is taken over by the lender/mortgage company, they will give you a stipulated time period to leave the property. You will have to leave the property within that time period.

Hi Skrizz!
Welcome to forums!
Apart from what Adonis has said, you can even get in touch with the lender and check out the time period within which you will have to leave the property.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Once your house is taken by the mortgage lender of the company from whom you had taken out the loan, they will provide you a definite time period by which you will have to leave your precious home forever.
Hi Skrizz,
It is quite obvious that within that letter itself there would be specific information related to the time frame within which you need to leave your home.....I suggest you to go through the letter thoroughly once again and if you are in doubt you can always contact on their toll free number...

The letter states that they are going to repossess the house on a specific date. This means that you would have to leave it before that date.
