im getting a lump sum from my retirement and am in a ch 13 right now,i was told i dont have to report it to the trustee.is this correct, and if so why do i have to if it is protected income.
Hi phil,
As you're getting a lump sum amount when you're in bankruptcy, it will be better if you could report the same to your bankruptcy trustee. Whoever asked you to not give the information is not correct in saying so.
Thanks

Hi phil!
Welcome to forums!
I agree with what James has said. You should report the inheritance to your bankruptcy attorney as well as the trustee. They will let you know as to how you need to deal with this situation.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
