I own a store and have run up some personal credit card debt to help pay bills at the store. I am not LLC or Incorporated. If it ends up that I have to file bankruptcy I do not want to lose my home which has mortage, taxes, etc. all paid up. Is there anyway not to lose my home? I was told as a single woman if I got married and put my husband on the title that it would not be touched. Is this true? I do have a boyfriend and we started purchasing rings about a year ago so I could certainly show that the marriage was for real. I had never planned on adding him to the house but for this I would do it. I thank you and need help ASAP.
Hi maryonkauai,
You have only mentioned about the credit card debts. You can try consolidating the credit card debts through a debt consolidation program or you can even check out the option of debt settlement. In case of debt consolidation, your interest rate will be reduced whereas in case of debt settlement, the debts will be reduced by 40% - 60%.
Thanks
