my second mortgage has been charged off. i have a couple questions. i am still paying the original lendor (citifinancial) monthly payments.
1. should i have gotten a formal notice of the charge off?
2. since i am still making payments, will i get a year end notice of the interest amount to claim on my taxes?

Hi marang,
If the mortgage has already been charged off by the lender, then you should make the payments to the collection agency. The lender should inform you that the loan has been charged off. As the mortgage account has been charged off, it will be considered as an unsecured debt. In that case, the you may not be able to claim tax deductions.
Thanks
