Buying after a short sale

Posted on: 16th Aug, 2010 09:16 am
I went through a divorce last year and sold my house. Because of the divorce I fell behind 120 days. I had to pay spousal support and could not keep up with the mortgage. We sold the house for our asking price, however the buyers mortgage company would not approve the loan for the amount we sold for, THEREFORE WE HAD TO SHORT SALE. At the time I didn't think too much into it, but now I am remarried and want to buy a house and I think I'm screwed. I have my credit score back up to 700 and I my new wife's credit is 750. However, she doesn't have the income to qualify on her own. We have 20% to put down. Do I have any options?
