short sale almost over, now what ???

hi im a single father ive been out of work for almost 9 months im on my first unemployment extention i fell way behind on my morgage payments and i filed for a modification i owed 400,000 and the property is only worth 200,000 at this time and i live in san jose, Cal. well the mod would of only put the 400,000 loan down to around 375,000-380,000 so i decided to go the short sale route its ending and i need to be out by october 5th and im starting to get pretty nervice there doesent seem to be anyone that i can rent from to make things worse i filled for bankrupsy 4 years ago but did complete. has anyone ever been in this situation is there something i should be doing besides try to find work im at a complete loss thank you
