Better to find a realtor who has experince in short sale
They can help you in the entire process on how this needs to be handled and also negotiate with the lender

Hi pohac,
If you want to short sell the property, you need to contact your lender i.e. GMac first. In order for the short sale to go through, you need to get your lender's approval. If they do not have any problem with the short sale, you can contact a real estate agent and list the house in the market for the short sale.

Jenkin is right.
do not be in hurry. intimate to your lender first. lender is also a interested party as they have given a mortgage to you.
