Can I short-sale my/our home to my husband? He is not on the 1st or 2nd morts or the deed. Would we still need an agent? Would he have to have 20% dn pmt?
Welcome katieb,
As far as I know, you'll be able to short sale your property to your husband. I don't think you would require to take the help of an agent in doing so. I guess your husband would be taking a loan in order to buy the property. In that case, the lender may want him to pay a downpayment of 20%.

Hi,
It is a good alternative that you have mentioned here as, There are some tips for the borrowers who are buying a short sale and that are by obtaining a legal advice from a competent real estate lawer and calling an accountant for discussing short sale tax ramifications.
These tips will be very beneficial for everyone to get short sales.
Thanks!
