I have begun the short sale process and have decided to keep my home, due to a change in finances. Will I be liable to the real estate company that listed my home? Thanks
I have begun a short sale process on my home. I have missed no payments on my mortgage, and no one has made an offer. Will I be liable to the real estate company that listed my home in any fashion if I choose to cancel the short sale? Thanks
Hi PD,
You will have to contact the lender and cancel the short sale process first. You may have to pay the lender for listing the property in the market. Apart from that, you can make normal mortgage payments as per your agreement.
Thanks

I was totally unknown to these facts about short sales. However, from this thread, I have got lots of information about this sale. It will truly help me in my investment.
If you have had no short sale offers, there is nothing to cancel with the lender because there there never has been an offer to process.
You have a listing with a Realtor.
You have to ask the Realtor if they will remove/cancel the listing.
Then the property is not for sale anymore.
They should agree to cancel.
If not, do not accept any offers that are below your asking price. Also, if they will noit cancel ask if you raise raise the asking price (the purpose being to make a price so high no one would ever offer anyway).
