my employment provided disability insurance wants me to give them my retroactive money from Social Security. I don't feel that they are entitled to it. What will happen if i do not turn this money over to them? Can they attach my checking account. I only recieve SS benefits
Hi star,

You need to contact an insurance expert in this regard to know whether or not you'll have to give retroactive money from your social security. As far as I know, no creditor can attach a lien on your social security benefits. However, if you have a saving's account, your employer can attach a lien to it or any other property you own.

Take care
