Statue of limitations on the bank to foreclose on the proper

Posted on: 30th Apr, 2012 03:24 am
I made my last mortgage payment on Oct 2008 but the property hasn’t been foreclosed yet. The property has been scheduled for sheriff sale 6 times and has been postponed every time. My question; is there a statue of limitations on the bank to foreclose on the property? The property is still registered in the county under my wife and my name.
I haven't heard of statute of limitations for foreclosure. Nevertheless, you can contact your lender and ask him to sell off the property asap so that you can get rid of the property and move on to buy another new home in the near future.

Hi Pollynisa!

Welcome to forums!

Same here. Even I haven't heard of any kind of statute of limitations in case of foreclosure. You can contact a real estate attorney and take his help in negotiating with the lender so that he takes steps to sell off the property as fast as possible.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
