I know SOL and length of time on credit report are separate issues, but was wondering if anyone has had experience/success with using GW letters to get the OC or CA to remove/stop reporting?
Hi Novak,
You can send a goodwill (GW) letter to the OC or the CA and request them to remove or stop reporting an item only when you have paid off the debt. Just because you will be passed SOL doesn't mean that the OC or the CA will stop reporting the item.
Thanks,
Jerry

Did you ever try to reach for a settlement? If not, then try it and you may be successful in lowering the outstanding balances. Pay off the settled amount and rid yourself of the troubles.
